SIMPLE TIMES Ray Jones Ray Jones is an award-winning country singer-songwriter from Myalup Beach, Western Australia, known for his warm vocals, heartfelt storytelling and authentic approach to the genre. Blending classic country influences with a contemporary edge, Jones creates music that resonates across generations.     His debut album, Sleeping Rough, introduced audiences to his emotionally rich songwriting, with standout tracks such as “Sleeping Rough” and “Die Tryin” earning acclaim in Australia and the United States for their lyrical depth and sincerity. His growing impact on the country music scene has been recognised with WA Country Music Male Artist of the Year titles in 2023 and 2024, along with finalist honours for WAM Country Song of the Year in 2024.     Jones has shared the stage with leading artists including Lee Kernaghan, Kasey Chambers and Ashley Dallas, and maintains a close creative partnership with producer Bill Chambers. Whether performing on major stages or in intimate venues, his live shows are celebrated for their warmth, honesty and strong audience connection.     With the upcoming release of his album Northern Stars, Ray Jones continues to build a compelling catalogue defined by sincerity, craftsmanship and a deep respect for country music’s storytelling tradition.

Originally made famous by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood in 1967, the song remains a timeless favourite, and Col and Venessa have been performing their version for around four years. After including it on their 100-song USB album, releasing it as a single felt like the perfect next step—one they hope radio presenters will enjoy just as much as they enjoy performing it.
